GALLERY: INDIGO DE SOUZA & MOTHÉ

Indigo de Souza is an artist that has been close to my heart for a while and it’s a beautiful thing to see her grow and succeed from an outside point of view. It’s been a few years since I’ve seen her and I went to her show at The Underground on April 1 at The Underground in Charlotte, NC on her Precipice Tour to spiritually catch up.

Indigo grew up in the Asheville,-Spruce Pine area of NC. It’s such a pleasure to witness someone relatively local grow and prosper.

INDIGO DE SOUZA

Indigo’s set was very heartfelt and spiritual. You can tell she’s in her element singing songs that act as a sort of medicine for the soul. At one point, she joined the audience in an impromptu almost-acapella where the audience held down a droning vocal rhythm, and she improvised over top of it. A beautiful show of natural talent and the frequencies which we all listen to…given to us by Mother Earth.

MOTHÉ

Mothé’s performance was absolutely electric.. so moody and glamourous. They sang songs about being a popstar, troubled relationships, and nostalgic feelings of limousine parties. Synth-pop with fuzz guitar. The early 90s glam of being a successful musician, personified in modern music.
